This is very individualized. Many of my clients feel they progress towards their goals quickly (like within a few sessions) but choose to continue to fine-tune or for extra support. Most of my clients are interested in longer-term, deeper work and do tend to stay with me for a year or more. However, this is not always the case, especially for targeted EMDR work or a more specific issue.

Most of my clients start with weekly or biweekly sessions. Biweekly is the most common. I do have some clients who have sessions every 4 weeks or, as I have cancellations/availability, as needed.

The short answer is YES. I value trust and confidentiality very much. There are a few exceptions where I am legally and/or ethically required to share what you might tell me. These situations are things like suicidal intent or if you disclose child abuse (past or present). Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this at all.

In many cases, we will end our sessions with a summary and ideas for things to work on in the meantime. Sometimes this is a practical tool to practice and sometimes it’s a question to reflect on. This is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

I use a secure electronic health record called TherapyNotes. Clients log in each week to their TherapyPortal site to attend sessions via a secure video platform.

I try my best to stick to about 55 minutes. It is my job to watch the time, but I appreciate you being sensitive to time constraints as well.
